This was my 3rd year to participate in the Santa Fe Renaissance Fair at El Rancho de las Golondrinas, and once again I had a great time. It was hot! Unseasonably hot for September in Santa Fe, but it was still great fun. While some were born with a silver spoon in their mouth, I was born with a pencil in my hand. In fact, when I was a toddler, I even had my own word for pencil: "beebaw." Or was it "meenot"? Yes, my special language confused my family too! Thus began my creative journey, from writing and illustrating my own books with crayons and Red Chief tablets (I'm dating myself!), to wielding a calligraphy pen, a sewing needle, a crochet hook, a paintbrush, a few thousand flower stems, and now a pair (or 10) of Wubbers jewelry pliers.
