About Kelley

Photograph of Kelley Pounds of Kell's CreationsHello! Welcome to my blog. I’m Kelley, and I’m an artist and mixed-media jewelry artisan, a graduate of Art Instruction Schools, and I love working in watercolor and colored pencil. I have eclectic tastes and interests, and I’m inspired by fantasy, folklore, culture and history.

My jewelry often features my art images, and one of my silver precious metal clay and silver wire art pieces won a silver medal in a contest sponsored by Fire Mountain Gems. My work has appeared in Bead Trends magazine, Step by Step Wire Jewelry, and ads for my award-winning piece have appeared Lapidary Journal’s Jewelry Artist, The Crafts Report, and other publications. I love creating eclectic, one-of-a-kind pieces using semi-precious gemstones, polymer clay, lampwork glass, metal clay, and just about every piece I create incorporates various wire-wrapping techniques.

Locally I sell my jewelry at many arts & crafts fairs, as well as the Rupp Gallery in Angel Fire, NM and the Cloudcroft Trading Post in Cloudcroft, NM, where I also teach classes. Many of my one-of-a-kind pieces are available in my Kell’s Creations Etsy shop, and I now have Fae Finery Artwear jewelry available at Etsy also. My artwork adorns apparel and gift items in my Kell’s Creations Zazzle shop.

Picture of Kelley as a child sitting on petroglyph rock at Old Southwest MuseumAs for my personal life, I live with my husband of 27 years on a working cattle ranch in central New Mexico near a little ghost town called Pinos Wells. My husband was raised on a ranch about ten miles from where we currently live, and I grew up in Mountainair, only 50 miles away. Before I started kindergarten, my parents owned The Old Southwest Museum, which might explain my love of times gone by. My husband and I have one beautiful daughter who married in November of 2011. Seems like just yesterday she was a baby! Hope you enjoy some of my random personal photos from different aspects of my life.
